Stylechapel is a haven for stylish, creative, design-led products. Not mass produced. Not sold in large quantities. Not stuff you’ll find everywhere. These are the sort of things that make other people go green with envy. Or get tickled pink.
Our mantra: Individuality rules. Conformity is for wimps.
Why we do what we do
Don’t you just love it when a friend comments on a beautiful ring you’re wearing? Or admires something in your home, like an unusual cushion or a funky coat rack? Or when that gift you buy them is like nothing they’ve ever seen before?
Even better, when there’s a story to tell about it. Like the fact that the designer spent their formative years under the tutelage of a tantric yogi. Or that the idea came in a flash (literally) when Aunt Grace set fire to her wig last Boxing Day?
Designers in the chapel
I pick the designers we work with because they are new, emerging or just plain fabulous. Some use really interesting materials, some are eco-friendly, some are quirky. All of them are genuinely innovative and superb at what they do.
I love finding products that are truly unusual. For instance, there had better be a good reason why that duck has a lampshade on its head. And, to be fair, there usually is a good reason because I only source my products from the most creative and exciting artists and designers.
More than a place to shop
Stylechapel is a place where you can come for inspiration. We review films and books that we think are really interesting. We post delicious recipes from our congregation. We share some of the coolest sounds to stick on your iPod. And we feature things to do and places to visit for the hedonistic pleasure seeker. You’ll find all this – and a whole lot more – in our magazine section.
Wrapping and packing
We understand the thrill of receiving a delivery (even when you’re expecting it). So to add a cherry to your cake of excitement, we wrap all our products beautifully. Like a proper present. For you to enjoy opening. And in terms of packaging, stylechapel and our designers use as much recycled – and recycle as much – as we possibly can. We’re not tree huggers. We’re just doing our bit for the mothership.
What’s new pussycat?
We update the site frequently, adding new designers and products, keeping the collections fresh. Every now and again, we’ll ask a designer to create a bespoke product or collection that reflects the changing trends in fashion, the arts and lifestyle. Bringing you even more fantastic things you simply can’t live without.
So come back often. There will plenty to peruse, enthuse and amuse.
